This is an excellent opportunity for a Family Practice Physician who wishes to practice in a beautiful rural setting in a pleasant workplace, joining a! cordial, well trained medical staff. Join a staff of four physicians in a hospital based setting. Starting Salary $165K, call is 1:5, average number of patients the practice sees per day is 72.
Located in Newport, Vermont, serves a catchment area of 28,000, spread across three counties in northern Vermont on the Canadian border. This is a fiscally sound, up - to - date facility with 25 active beds. The hospital carries the federal designation of a Critical Access Hospital.
The facility has been recently renovated and is staffed by well trained clinical and administrative personnel. The operating room area has also been recently renovated and is staffed by three highly qualified anesthesiologists. The emergency services department is staffed around the clock by physicians and nurse practitioners. The medical staff, 33 in number, is comprised of board - certified internists, family practitioners, pediatricians, two general surgeons, a psychiatrist, three orthope! dic surgeons, an ophthalmologist, an ENT surgeon, oncologist a! nd a neurologist. “Visiting physicians†from two area medical centers provider regular services in the area of cardiology and dermatology.

Job Description:
- Perform physical examinations of new and existing patients and determines x - ray examinations and clinical laboratory tests required.
- Interpret examination findings and test results; consults with patients to implement appropriate treatment plans.
- Provide continuing, comprehensive health maintenance and medical care to the entire family unit, to include preventive medicine, behavioral sciences and community health.
- Direct outpatient and inpatient care and services.
- Determine the need for consultation and assist in medical care treatment provided at the direction of other specialists.
