Dental Registration Advocate


 
Overview:
The Dental Patient Services Advocate provides support remotely to all front office functions of the dental locations, including but not limited to; confirmation calls, eligibility verification, pre-screening and check-in processes. This role is part of the Patient Financial Services team and assists with ensuring a great patient experience through daily communication with patients as well as the dental locations.

Responsibilities:
  • Use AIDET/ALTA as needed with all internal and external customers.
  • Responsible for performing outbound calls to patients to confirm scheduled appointments.
  • Responsible for answering and assisting with inbound calls received from patients and/or internal departments.
  • Responsible for on-going communication and collaboration with dental clinics.
  • Responsible for participating weekly/bi-weekly meeting with dental clinics.
  • Responsible for updating patients’ charts with all demographic, insurance and financial information, validating insurance eligibility and scheduling appointments as applicable.
  • Responsible for monitoring and resolving all dental work queue tasks related to front office, registration, or eligibility issues.
  • Key performance indicators for remote work completed at corporate include: time to answer, abandoned calls, total inbound/outbound calls made, total chart verifications,
  • May be required temporarily to provide coverage as a PSA on site at a dental location, including but not limited to these additional tasks and responsibilities:
  • Travel to an assigned dental location
  • Greeting/screening patients and verifying the purpose of the patient’s visit
  • Registering/checking in patients on site for their appointments, processing payments, and explaining treatment plans as needed
  • Responsible for telephone management and ensuring that all calls are answered and resolved as expected.
  • Responsible for communicating with the patient care team, which can include but is not limited to the dental assistants, providers, medical team members and other staff to ensure that the patient experiences a seamless transition between hand-offs and to ensure all patient needs are met.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 1-year experience required as a customer service agent, greeter, or receptionist-type role; 1½ - 2 years preferred.
  • BLS for Healthcare Providers certificate preferred.
  • Bi-lingual English/Spanish required.
