Gifford Health Care, located in beautiful Central Vermont has a part-time to full-time opportunity for a Psychiatrist. This is a unique opportunity to work in a spectacular setting at a rural, Federally Qualified Health Center with a progressive ph ilosophy, supportive administrative team and advanced technology.
Gifford is seeking a Psychiatrist to join our Behavioral Health group to:
Work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team to provide comprehensive medical and counseling services to patients including diagnosing and treatment of mental illness. We emphasize a bio-psycho-social approach with our patients. Our mission is to integrate Psychiatry with Primary Care.
- Assess and treat mental illnesses through a combination of psychotherapy and medication while also collaborating with the Behavioral Health Division to ensure good quality, patient satisfaction, and overall organizational excellence.
The position is predominately outpatient mental health as well as providing both in and outpatient consultative Psychiatric care in collaboration with our medical care providers, Addiction Medicine program, Behavioral Health team and our community partners.
We are o ne of just a few healthcare organizations in the country who have both a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) and a Critical Access Hospital (CAH) status. Gifford is well known for its progressive approach to providing primary and specialty care to the many communities it serves.
Educational requirements: Completion of an accredited Psychiatry Residency Program, certification by the American Board of Psychiatry, and medical licensure in the State of Vermont. Minimum 4 years of experience in a healthcare setting preferred. EOE
