Under the general supervision of the HR Generalist 3 and the Management Service Officer (MSO), manage the payroll and personnel functions of the Computer Science Department. Advise staff and students of personnel and payroll policies and procedures, including payroll deadlines, as well as sensitive matters that may arise in the area of human resources. Initiate hiring, benefits, promotion, reclassification, and all other actions for staff personnel, graduate student researchers, teaching apprentices, readers and general assistance using the UCPath database. Correct payroll transactions that could involve revising pay, entering retroactive payments, and direct retro into UC Path. Hire, train and supervise administrative work-study students. Assist with special projects as requested by faculty, Management Service Officer and HR Generalist 3.
