Project Manager


 The Project Manager has full responsibility and accountability for managing renovation, repair, alteration and design projects for the English department under the direction of the Chair and CAO. Take the lead role in projects from inception through completion and diligently initiates, monitors, and follows through all related activities to ensure work adequately reflects the Department's needs and is executed in a continuous and prompt manner within the project budget.

Skill in systematically organizing material in order to maintain efficient record-keeping systems.

Demonstrated skill in budget development and working knowledge of cost estimates and project management.

Working knowledge of building and safety codes, facilities systems, and EH&S safety and materials protocols and requirements.

Demonstrated ability to established priorities, organize work, achieve consensus, and meet objectives with competing deadlines and priorities. Ability to perform effectively under conditions of fluctuating workload.

Working knowledge of UC purchasing policies and procedures. Ability to negotiate with vendors and manufacturers' representatives.

Demonstrated skill using management databases, CAD, and other project management tools.

Skill in working independently and following through on assignments and projects with minimal direction.
